Want A Diving Watch? Look at This Omega’s 40-Carat, $760,000 One !
Why spend time diving underwater looking for buried treasure when you can wear a treasure on your wrist while diving?
That may have been logic behind the diamond-covered and encrusted Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1200M Co-Axial Master Chronometer the company was showing during Baselworld 2015, the world’s largest watch and jewelry show.
The titanium case and ceramic bezel are covered in 40 carats of diamonds. Primarily baguette shaped diamonds were used with sprinklings of diamond pavé and snow set diamonds. The watch is valued at approximately $760,000.
It arrived just as Baselworld began, explained Jean-Claude Monachon, vice-president of Product & Customer Service and Brice Le Troadec, USA brand president, during a two-hour meeting at the Omega booth during Baselworld. Some of the other projects being tackled by the innovative watch brand will be told in future stories.
Other than the diamonds, it is the same Seamaster Ploprof unveiled by the company this year. It has the 8912 automatic movement that has anti-magnetic properties that the company has been working on for its movements for several years. Other items comparable with the Ploprof are the screw-in crown, automatic helium escape valve and bezel security pusher.
